Come and enjoy a delicious family-style lunch in a festive sugar shack atmosphere. This traditional event includes folk music and maple taffy on the snow, all in an enchanting setting. Put on your best checkered shirt and come satisfy your sweet tooth, just like they used to do in the olden days! The Yukon Africa Music Festival is an annual event showcasing African traditions and cultures to the Yukon community through music, presentations, crafts, and dance. The 12th Yukon African Music Festival 2025 will take place in Whitehorse on February 15th at the Sternwheeler Hotel & Conference Centre (Westmark Hotel) from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The festival will continue on February 16th in Haines Junction at the St. Elias Convention Centre from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The entry fee is $10 for adults, while children can attend for free.

Selkirk Elementary welcomes everyone to our family-friendly carnival and vendor market. Join us for a day of Sourdough Rendezvous fun! Carnival games require the purchase of tickets. Tickets will cost $2 for 1 ticket, $5 for 5 tickets, and $8 for 10 tickets. Each game or activity will cost between 1-5 tickets. It’s free to attend the vendor market and enter door prizes. There will be a concession with food for sale. This event is a fundraiser for Selkirk Elementary School and all proceeds benefit the school.

Often featuring multiple different types of military planes, such as Griffins, Chinooks, Twin Otters, Auroras, Harvards, Cormorants, Dash-8s, Hercs, etc.
