2019 Rendezvous Queen and Court

Hello to you wonderful hair growing, axe throwing, sword fighting, can-can dancing bunch,

First of all, I would like to say what an honour it was to compete on my traditional territory of the ta'an Kwach'an Council and the Kwanlin Dun First Nation. I would also like to say a big thank you to my sponsor Hvactech Systems who without, none of this would have been possible.

I am so honored and humbled to have been given the opportunity to be your 2019 Rendezvous Queen. It's hard to put into words what it means to have become a part of the Rendezvous family. The word Cliche is used a lot but the sentiments towards the connections you make and the growth you can experience are nothing but the truth.

I thought I knew what it would mean to be Queen, but I can honestly say now that I had no idea what I was about to immerse myself into. Throughout the whole Quest for the Crown competition, I was continuously in awe of all the support and well wishes I felt and received from everyone in this incredible Yukon. I loved listening to all your stories and past experiences with the festival, it was always a treat to run into a former Queen and ask for advice. All your kind words and gestures made it easy to put all my queen gear on night after night and really enjoy myself. I hope I can share the same support you've all shown me throughout my reign.

I have to also acknowledge the amazing group of women I have standing beside me, Rendezvous was lucky enough to have six incredible queen candidates in their corner this year who all worked extremely hard.  My hope for the year is that we all continue to show the same compassion and kindness I felt throughout the whole competition and festival. Your Queen and her court hope to have a busy year showing support and staying involved in the community while continuing to build life long friendships. In the words of Derek Charlton, Rendezvous isn't about the location, it's about the people!

Looking forward to an amazing year!

Thank you all,
