I have been a musician my entire life. Being a vocalist came easily to me and throughout my childhood I took every opportunity to learn how to play any instrument I could get my hands on. I performed in musicals and at competitions and whenever else the opportunity presented itself- and sometimes I created the opportunity for myself!

When I moved to Yukon 10 years ago, I was very quickly introduced to the music scene and have since met many of the local, awesome talent and have performed with many of them too. I love being a musician here and with the help of so many people I have been able to spread my wings and become a better performer and vocalist every day.

With my band mates Carl Cowell (also my partner) and guitar player Blair Blois, I started writing and performing my own music and recorded a demo with Seaweed Studio’s in 2003. I have performed at many venues with my band mates over the years and in 2006 after a solo performance at a YWIM event, the Whitehorse Star was quoted as saying “watch out for Klein as her talents develop…she will be well worth the price of admission” and that sparked the fire to create more music and record my first CD, it also increased my need to perform. I love to perform for people. I recognize others love of music and I want to celebrate that with them and feel my gift would be wasted if I didn’t share it with others.

When I became involved with the Rendezvous Society, my musical persona was an easy fit. I’ve played at many events over the last six years getting the chance to share the music and the popular songs that everyone loves.

Thanks to the help and support of my rendezvous family, as well as the encouragement I received from our head lining performer, Gillian Campbell, I have been able to grow into this new YSR “Character” – Musical Marjie. I am very fortunate to have been given this opportunity and am so happy to perform for all the fans of the festival and I hope to spread the love and joy of music to all who witness the Rendezvous show.
