Araica reluctantly left Vancouver and transferred with her employer, Royal Bank, to Whitehorse in 2003. Her first truly northern experience was Rendezvous 2004 and she discovered a love for the uniqueness that can only be found in the Yukon. "There is a spirit and camaraderie that make me feel as though I can't possibly belong anywhere else" She joined the board in 2005 and has a passion for all things Rendezvous. After moving "down south" in 2009, spending her vacation flying back to volunteer for Rendezvous, she returned to Whitehorse and rejoined the board in the fall of 2010.
